Alena Murang - Flight

Alena Murang is a Dayak Kelabit musician indigenous to Malaysian Borneo, who sings in the endangered languages of Kelabit and Kenyah. She is the first woman to professionally play the sape', a lute instrument from Borneo traditionally (pre-1930s) reserved for male healers.

This arrangement was written for the concert held in honor of A.R. Rahman, an iconic Indian composer and singer-songwriter, when he was presented with an Honorary Doctorate degree from Berklee College of Music.
